Hi I'm Sara and I'm a Therapist.
For a long time, I thought I just had to get better at managing life. I had a busy job, a full calendar, relationships that weren’t right for me and the feeling that somehow I should be able to do it all and figure it out. I’m a stepmum, a wife, a business owner and someone who has had to loss.
Instead of asking what was wrong, I started asking questions about myself. What was my pattern? Why was I making these decisions? What was I getting from them? So I went to therapy.
Not because there was something wrong with me, but because I wanted to understand myself better. Therapy changed the way I understood my relationships, my behaviour, my thoughts and, ultimately, myself. It also sparked a much deeper interest in how we make sense of our lives and why we do the things we do.
I spent 3 years training as a therapist, building on my background in the community, voluntary & charitable sector. Now I work with people who are somewhere in that same process of wondering, why am I like this? Why do I keep doing this? And can things actually feel different?
I don’t pretend to have life figured out. I live it too. What I do have is professional training, curiosity, experience and a growing toolbox of ways to help you understand yourself, challenge the stories you’ve been carrying and find ways of coping that actually work for you.
Because life is a lot. I don’t think therapy is about making it less so. I think it’s about helping you feel more equipped to live it.
